A vacancy has arisen within UK Rail for a Production Manager based at Freightliner Heavy Haul in Crewe. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will contribute to the achievement of a safe day-to-day UK rail operation.
Responsibilities include the development and provision of a suitably trained, equipped and assessed rail operations team (principally Train Drivers and Ground staff where applicable), in order to meet on-going business requirements.
Applicants must have good knowledge of, or be willing to work towards the following vocational skills:
- Rules & Regulations
- NVQ Level 3 competency assessment
- Root cause analysis certification
- Traction training
- Route risk assessments / Route Briefing
- Training and Briefing
- Data recorder collection and analysis post incident
- Ride assessments (CDP / PQA)
- Managing investigations (SPAD/Collisions/Derailment)
There is a requirement to undertake an on-call commitment with this role.
The successful applicants must be able to demonstrate current train driver competence.
As part of the selection process candidates will be required to attend a new entrant medical and a drugs and alcohol test.
