Within G&W UK companies, we take our Health and Safety responsibilities seriously and recognise the importance of our people to the success of our business. We are committed to business practices which promote a culture of challenge and debate that enhances our ability to keep people safe and healthy whilst seeking new and innovative ways to improve our business performance meeting the needs of our people, customers, and supply chain.

We are committed to:

-Provide safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work-related injury and ill health.

-Fulfil all relevant legal obligations.

-Engage and work with our people and their representatives.

-Promote a culture where our people can speak up and work together to drive Health and Safety improvements.

-Engage with trade bodies and wider stakeholders to help develop and deliver effective policies and targets.

-Focus on learning from incidents and investigations utilising our Just Culture approach to prevent reoccurrence.

-Provide reasonable support to industry initiatives to improve Health and Safety performance contributing to a safer railway, terminal and road operations.

-Continually improving our Health and Safety management system in light of new technologies and best practices to enhance Health and Safety performance.

-Ensure our people have the correct medical clearance for the tasks they carry out.

-Promote a positive approach to workplace health and wellbeing.


The G&W UK Executive Team is responsible for this policy and its implementation. We commit to providing the relevant resource and to reviewing this policy annually and communicating it within the organisation and to external interested parties.
