The unspoken fact about running a 21st Century transportation and logistics company is this: all our assets, including the giant gantry cranes, container handling equipment, locos, lorries, wagons and containers would lie dormant if not for the army of support services that keep everything on track, on time, paid, documented, licensed, legal, trained, and informed.
To uphold our core values we strive for excellence in all that we do. To ensure that our colleagues can offer the highest levels of customer service we provide our staff with the equipment to succeed.
Providing state-of-the-art facilities and the latest technology ensures our new and existing talent can flourish in a safe and innovative environment. We are constantly expanding and upgrading to further our capabilities as a company, and this includes with the construction of new sites across the UK such as our G&W UK Finance Shared Service Centre (FSSC) based in the heart of Birmingham’s business district.
Since becoming G&W subsidiaries, Freightliner and Pentalver have evolved to stand as one team with one mission; to be the safest transportation logistics provider in the world. To support this, our dedicated Learning and Development Team is creating opportunities for every employee to acquire the skills and experience they need to reach their personal and professional goals.
It’s imperative when running a 24-hour operation in a safety-critical environment, that those behind the scenes are every bit as qualified, experienced and dedicated as those on the front line. That is why we offer full training, fantastic benefits, competitive pay, team building and employee engagement activities, a fantastic pension scheme and career development opportunities.
So where do you fit in?
If you join G&W UK/Europe Region, you will not just be a number. Each role we offer provides immediate exposure to real-life problem-solving and exciting challenges, where you will have significant autonomy in decision-making. Perhaps most importantly of all, you will be working in a safe, supportive environment with a friendly, diverse team to offer you encouragement and guidance every step of the way.
Corporate Communications Executive, G&W UK/Europe Region
I joined G&W in their UK head office in 2018. Over the last year I have been supported and encouraged by my managers and colleagues – so much so, I’ve been on training courses for leadership, technical development and women in the workplace. I was even nominated for a Women In Rail award and three RailStaff awards. I was new to the transportation industry before joining G&W and many thought it was a left-field choice, but with the career opportunities, good pay and great pension, it was an easy choice to stay.
Commercial Sales Coordinator, G&W UK/Europe Region
I joined Pentalver’s commercial team in 2016 after graduating from university. Pentalver have provided a range of training courses ranging from leadership, to negotiation, to technology allowing me to develop skills and knowledge of the industry to support our commercial function. The opportunity to develop within a company who supports and nurtures their employees to become the best versions of themselves makes it a great company to work for.
