About the Freightliner Retirement Association

The Freightliner Retirement Association was formed in March 1985 and currently has over 200 members of all grades of staff who were previously employed by Freightliner or Railfreight Distribution.

Freightliner Retirement Association, Christmas 2019 event.

Two main FRA functions are held each year in the form of a spring luncheon and a Christmas dinner, both providing a good meal at a reasonable price. We also hold monthly regional meetings at a different venue each month as well as trips throughout the year.

The monthly meetings are held in places such as York, Merseyside, London, South Wales, East Anglia and the Midlands. Our annual spring visit has included a number of trips abroad as well as visits to the Severn Valley Railway, the Falkirk Wheel in Scotland, Bletchley Park and river trips on the Thames.

Join the Freightliner Retirement Association

Membership of the FRA is £5 per year and gives you the opportunity to keep in touch with old work colleagues. It also entitles you to receive regular issues of the FRA’s ‘Newsline’ as well as Freightliner’s in-house magazine ‘Traction’.

If you have worked for Freightliner and would like to join us, or you are interested in becoming an associate member whilst still employed, please contact the Secretary below who will be pleased to provide you with any further information you require and supply you with an application form.
