Freightliner announces that, Eddie Fitzsimons is standing down as Chairman of Freightliner Group
Freightliner announces that with effect from 31st December 2009, Eddie Fitzsimons is standing down as Chairman of Freightliner Group.
After a bout of ill health, Eddie stepped down from the position of Chief Executive in March of this year and subsequently concentrated on putting in place the successor management team to take the business forward. With this complete, and after 38 years in the rail industry he has decided the time is right to leave the company.
Eddie was a member of the original Freightliner management buyout team and has played a key role in the success of Freightliner in recent years.
Prior to becoming Chief Executive in 2004, Eddie had been Managing Director of both of Freightliner’s operating divisions.
