Freightliner's Terminal Network

With over 37 direct route offerings Freightliner can move maritime containers from the 5 deep-sea ports to all major conurbations in the UK .
Freightliner own and operate 9 of the 12 terminals served and 65% of all rail borne containers in the UK are handled by Freightliner’s terminal for onward distribution.Collectively Freightliner’s terminals handle 700,000 containers per year.

At Freightliner we continually invest in our terminal network, including new handling equipment and cranes. In 20ll we started a £multi- million contract with Barloworld to supply 32 new units of container handling equipment. Our 4 new rail head gantry cranes at our Birmingham and Manchester terminals can accommodate up to 35% more lifts per hour than the industry standard. With the cranes working 24 hours of 5.5 days per week, this
investment will help maximise efficiency, and reduce the time taken to upload containers to move by road for the final leg of their journey to local distribution centres.

 Birmingham is Freightiner Ltd's second busiest intermodal terminal and is a crucial city centre hub for  Birmingham and the surrounding West Midland's area.

£4million was invested in two new rail head gantry cranes at Birmingham and a similar project took place at our Manchester terminal. The state of the art cranes can accomodate up to 35% more then industry standard.

Our Birmingham terminal handles 16 daily Freightliner services to and from the UK's deep sea ports.

Manchester is the busiest intermodal terminal in the UK and is a crucial city centre hub for Manchester and the North West. Freightliner supplies 50% of all containers in Manchester city area.

 £4million  was invested in two new rail head gantry cranes at Manchester following a similar investiment in Birmingham. The state of the art cranes can accomodate up to 35% more then industry standard.

Infrastructure investiments such as a new road construction at the Trafford Park site has enhanced operations at the terminal and increased contianer storage capacity.
