Freightliner Australia Pty Ltd is a subsidiary of the highly successful UK based Freightliner Group, and is able to provide rail haulage services in a number of markets, including intermodal, heavy haul (bulk) and infrastructure services.

Having entered the market on a platform of Safety, Reliability and Quality, Freightliner Australia offers local knowledge and expertise supported by a successful UK based business.

  • We hold Rail Safety Accreditation with the New South Wales Independent Transport Safety and Reliability Regulator (ITSRR), with Queensland Transport (QT), and the Western Australian Department of Planning and Infrastructure (DPI) allowing us to operate without restriction across New South Wales, Queensland and the WestNet Rail Network of Western Australia.  
  • We have the capability to service a variety of customers and business sectors in each of these jurisdictions we can offer a credible rail based alternative.
  • Operations have now commenced in New South Wales, with the transportation of containerised soft commodities.
  • We have also signed a long term contract with Xstrata coal for the provision of rail haulage services in Hunter Valley.

  • We currently operate daily services across New South Wales.
  • Safety accreditation across NSW, Queensland and Western Australia.
  • We hold a long term contract with Xstrata Coal for the provision of rail haulage services from their Hunter Valley coal mines the port of Newcastle.

Equipment

  • Freightliner Australia is currently operating with a fleet of 10 XRN  locomotives and GL class locomotives.
  • Wagon fleet for Xstrata rail consists of 300 PHEH and PHYH wagons.
  • Operating with CQFY, CQBY and CQYY wagons for Namoi Cotton.
